Farm Implements of
McCormick-Deering and
International Harvester
McCormick-Deering and International Harvester designed and produced farm
equipment that liberated human resources, otherwise committed to providing daily sustenance
for the family. The invention of the reaper by Cyrus McCormick became an enabler for entry
of the Industrial Age. From the first successful reaper demonstration in July of 1831, to
the introduction of other farm implements then coupled with the advent of the tractor -
International Harvester has delivered a powerful combination of machines which largely
enabled mass crop production.
One of the best places to see historical implements teamed with antique power is at the myriad of tractor and threshers shows around the country. These active and working demonstrations occur on any given weekend across the country and you can check out our "Links" page to find a show in your area.
So, all that being said, we welcome your suggestions and assistance in developing this area of interest. As always, we hope to make available stories from you and others who have worked to restore antique farm implements.
